BALTIMORE, MD - Junior Max Robinson broke his own program record in the 3000-meter run to lead the Johns Hopkins men's track & field team at the Maryland Invitational over the weekend.
Robinson defeated runners from American, Maryland and Navy to take first overall in the 3000m, turning in a program record time of 8:35.67. Senior Josh Baker also had a strong performance, running a personal record time of 8:47.72.
Senior James Frick broke four minutes for the Blue Jays in the 1500-meter run, posting a personal record time of 3:59.86 for sixth place overall. Julian Saliani finished ninth in 4:01.66.
Senior Josh Budman turned the in the third fastest time on the Hopkins top-10 list with a 9:36.50 in the 3000-meter steeplechase. Andrew Ceruzzi finished fourth in 9:57.80.
Hopkins also had a pair of strong runs in the 800-meter run, as Ben Press and Steve Hyland both finished sub-1:58.
Meanwhile, the Blue Jay 4x400 meter relay team was third in 3:26.08, as Ryan Walsh jumped 1.89m in the high jump for third overall, as well.
Hopkins returns to the track next weekend as it travels for a two-day meet in Durham, NC.
