BALTIMORE, MD -- Senior Annie Monagle and freshman Hannah Oneda turned in the top Division III times in the nation in their respective events over the weekend to lead the Johns Hopkins women's track & field team at the Stanford and Maryland Invitationals. It was the first weekend of outdoor competition for the team.

A few weeks removed from earning All-America honors at indoor track nationals, Monagle ran the nation's fastest time in both the 800m and 1500m at the Stanford Invitational. The senior turned in a time of 4:25.49 in the 1500 on Friday night and then a 2:12.54 on Saturday, setting Centennial Conference and program records in both events.

Oneda joined Monagle at the Stanford Invitational and broke a few records of her own in the 5000-meter run. The freshman ran a 16:44.52 against top Division I competition, breaking both conference and program records while achieving the fastest time in the nation to date this season.

A number of other outdoor program records were broken at the Maryland Invitational, led by senior Emily Swenson's program record toss of 12.68m in the shot put. Additionally, Swenson took first in the javelin over a number of Division I competitors with a throw of 39.67m.

Rae Conklin, Imoni McCorvey, Megan McDonald and Brynn Parsons notched program freshman records in their respective outdoor track debuts. Parsons turned in a time of 12.66 in the 100-meter dash, leading a throng of three Blue Jays to break 13 seconds.

The indoor national qualifier McCorvey finished fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 10.82m, as Megan McDonald ran a 1:05.51 in the 400m hurdles. McDonald's time ranks second on the Hopkins all-time list. Conklin posted the freshman record in the discus with a toss of 35.52m.

There were a number of other strong times by the Blue Jay women, including Maggie Shelton's 2:15.53 in the 800-meter run -- a personal record by two seconds. Alex Popkin finished with a PR in 2:20. Nikki Kerns ran 16.03 in the 100-meter hurdles, while Frances Loeb ran a personal record 17:52.59 in the 5000m.
