LANCASTER, PA -- Junior Emily Swenson and freshman Megan McDonald have been named Centennial Conference Track & Field athletes of the week after leading the No. 11 Johns Hopkins women's track & field team to a resounding victory at the conference championship meet last weekend.
Swenson was named the meet's Outstanding Field Performer after taking first place bests in both the heptathlon and javelin. The Woodstock, CT native is just the second Blue Jay in history to win the award, joining Kathy Darling (2003). Swenson is currently ranked 15th in the nation in the javelin.
McDonald was spectacular for Hopkins in her outdoor championship debut, setting program records as she took first overall in both the 400m (57.68) and 400m hurdles (1:02.78). The freshman was named Outstanding Track Performer for her efforts. McDonald is currently on the cusp of qualifying for nationals in the 400m hurdles, ranked 21st in the nation.
The Blue Jays return to action next weekend as they compete in the Swarthmore Last Chance Meet in an effort to solidify qualifying times for the NCAA Championship.

- 10000m (Men): Robinson (12th - 30:05.76)
- 10000m (Women): Oneda (11th - 35:58.21), Frances Loeb (20th - 36:20.20)
- 400H: McDonald (21st - 1:02.78)
- Javelin: Swenson (15th - 41.53m)
