BALTIMORE, MD - The Johns Hopkins Department of Athletics announced the relaunching and redesign of the official web site of Blue Jay athletics - www.HopkinsSports.com - today. Johns Hopkins last redesigned its web site in June, 2010.
The Johns Hopkins Athletic Communications staff of Ernie Larossa (Director of Athletic Communications), Jill Guise (Assistant Director of Athletic Communications), Keith Sneddon (Athletic Communications Assistant) and Mike Wallin (Digital Media Coordinator) worked closely with the design and editorial team at CBS Interactive on the redesign. Lina Vandor was the lead designer on the new site, while Nich DeCapio led the editorial development team at CBS.
In addition to the updated look and design, fans of Johns Hopkins athletics will find several new features on the site. A strong emphasis on video and social media was added and a unique History and Tradition section for each of Johns Hopkins' 24 varsity athletic programs was also developed.
Additional updates include:
• Higher visibility for the Blue Jays' online store, photo store and DVD store along with JHU's official online auction section.
• Rotating promotional sliders that will be used to keep Blue Jay fans updated with the latest and most important events and information.
• User-friendly tabs throughout the site that enhance the experience of fans by making information easier to find.
"The redesign of HopkinsSports.com has been a summer-long project that we are thrilled to debut just as the 2013-14 school year begins," Larossa noted. "The design and editorial team at CBS was fantastic throughout this process in taking our ideas and vision and developing a site that is functional and eye-catching. We are hopeful that Johns Hopkins fans will enjoy the new site and its many new features."
As part of the relaunch, is running a promotion for a free 47Brand Johns Hopkins hat with any purchase of $75 or more. The promotion will run from August 27 through September 9 while supplies last.
