Sept. 28, 2014

LANCASTER, PA - Johns Hopkins senior quarterback Braden Anderson (Great Falls, VA/Langley) has been selected as the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week, while teammate Brady Watts (Tigard, OR/Tualatin), a linebacker, has been named the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week for their efforts in the Blue Jays' 42-26 win at Muhlenberg on Saturday. Anderson and Watts are the first Johns Hopkins players this season to be honored by the league.

Anderson enjoyed the finest game of his career as he was 29-of-38 for 359 yards with four touchdowns and one interception. The 29 completions, 38 attempts, 359 yards and four TDs are all career highs, as were his 372 yards of total offense. Anderson turned in this effort against Muhlenberg defense that was allowing an average of just 5.7 points and 188 yards entering Saturday's game against the Blue Jays.

Watts was the leader of a Johns Hopkins defense that allowed just four field goals as Muhlenberg's two touchdowns came on defense and special teams. Watts posted a career-high nine tackles and added one sack and one forced fumble, which the Blue Jays recovered. Muhlenberg had entered the game averaging 45 points and 452 yards per game.

On the year, Anderson is now 74-of-110 (.673) for 843 yards with five touchdowns. He has also rushed for 127 yards and is tied for the team-lead with five rushing touchdowns.

Watts currently ranks fifth on the team in tackles (18) and second in tackles for losses (3.0). He also has one sack, one interception, one forced fumble and one pass breakup to his credit.

Johns Hopkins, which improved to 4-0 overall and 3-0 in the Centennial Conference with the win at Muhlenberg, will host Juniata on Saturday, October 4. That will be the Blue Jays' final game before their bye week.
