Johns Hopkins Launches Redesigned, Responsive Version of HopkinsSports.com

Nov. 11, 2015 BALTIMORE, MD - The Johns Hopkins Department of Athletics announced the relaunching and redesign of the official web site of Blue Jay athletics - www.HopkinsSports.com - today. The site was last redesigned in August 2013.

The new version of HopkinsSports.com provides fans with new features and enhanced placement of high-traffic areas including video and social media. Fans will also enjoy a completely responsive site, which will resize itself depending on the type of device in which it is being viewed. Responsive sites became popular just after the last redesign of HopkinsSports.com, but the newest version fully integrates the responsive design features.

The Johns Hopkins Athletic Communications staff of Ernie Larossa (Director of Athletic Communications), Jill Guise (Assistant Director of Athletic Communications), Myles Rudnick (Athletic Communications Assistant) and Mark Natale (Digital Media Coordinator) worked closely with the design and editorial team at CBS Interactive on the redesign. Lina Vandor was the lead designer on the new site, while Chris Bellamy led the editorial development team at CBS.

"The redesign of HopkinsSports.com has been an on-going project since the middle of the summer that we are thrilled to debut just as we enter NCAA Championship time for our fall teams and the start of the winter season," Larossa noted. "Having worked through several redesigns of the site in the last 15 years, we are appreciative of the support of the design and editorial team at CBS. The CBS team was fantastic throughout this process in taking our ideas and vision and developing a site that we hope Johns Hopkins fans will enjoy.”

HopkinsSports.com provides Johns Hopkins fans a one-stop location for everything they need to know about Blue Jay athletics. The site averaged more than 400,000 page views per month during the 2014-15 academic year with just under five million total page views from July 1, 2014 - June 30, 2015.
