Walters Named Centennial Offensive Player of the Week

LANCASTER, PA - Johns Hopkins junior running back Stuart Walters (Charleston, SC/Academic Magnet), who guided the Blue Jays to a 49-24 regular-season-ending victory at McDaniel, has been named the Centennial Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts against the Green Terror it was announced today. This is the first time this season Walters has been honored by the Centennial and he shares the award this week with Muhlenberg quarterback Nick Palladino.

Walters rushed 18 times for 103 yards and four touchdowns in the win at McDaniel. He tied the Johns Hopkins record for rushing and overall touchdowns with his four against the Green Terror and his four scores covered one, two, three and 10 yards. He is the sixth Johns Hopkins player to rush for four touchdowns in a game and first since Jonathan Rigaud did it against Ursinus in 2012. This is the eighth time a Johns Hopkins player has rushed for four touchdowns in a game and the 12th time a Blue Jay player has scored four times.

Walters currently lead the team in rushing with 798 yards (79.8/game) and has a team-high 16 rushing touchdowns and 19 overall touchdowns on the year. His 16 rushing TDs this season are the fourth-highest single-season total in school history, while his 19 overall touchdowns are the third-best total.

Johns Hopkins (10-0) capped its third consecutive unbeaten regular season with the win at McDaniel. The Blue Jays had already earned the Centennial Conference's automatic bid to the upcoming NCAA Playoffs before the game against the Terror and are in line to host a first-round game at Homewood Field on Saturday, November 21.
