GLASSBORO, NJ - The Johns Hopkins women's swim team won all 14 events en route to a 199-60 win over host Rowan Saturday morning. The Blue Jays improve to 3-0 on the season and were led by sophomore Anna Wisniewski, who won three individual events for the second straight weekend.
Hopkins opened the meet by taking the top two spots in the 200 Medley Relay to grab 15 points. Sophomores Michelle Kim and Kaitlin Jones, junior Shirley Chan and freshman Emily Cheng took the win with a time of 1:50.97. Junior Kristen Kaiser, sophomore Sara Wujciak, junior Abby Brown and sophomore Lena Bless took second place in 1:53.68.
Wujciak then grabbed a win in the 400 IM, touching first in 4:46.40 to win by more than five seconds. Freshman Elizabeth Duncan finished in third in 5:00.74. The Blue Jays then swept the top three spots in the 200 Free, led by freshman Emily Cheng who clocked in at 1:58.42. Junior Lindsay Kriz followed in second (2:02.30) and freshman Rabia Syed placed third (2:04.08). Hopkins did one better in the 100 Back, grabbing first through fourth. Wisniewski earned her first individual win with a time of 59.94, followed by Kim (1:02.02), Kaiser (1:04.28) and Bless (1:04.61).
Jones picked up her first win, taking the top spot in the 100 Breast with a time of 1:07.49 and Wujciak finished in second in 1:09.89. Hopkins then claimed first through third in the 200 Fly. Brown led the Jays with a winning time of 2:09.35. Chan placed second in 2:11.21 and Syed placed third in 2:19.11. Wisniewski followed with her second win, clocking in at 24.40 to win the 50 Free. Sophomore Lena DiPrizito took third place as she touched in 25.93. Cheng earned her second win, finishing in 54.50 in the 100 Free. DiPrizito clocked in at 56.75 for second place.
Kaiser then won the 200 Back in a time of 2:17.11 and Jones claimed victory in the 200 Breast (2:25.23), by more than eight seconds. Syed continued the Blue Jays' winning ways, touching first in the 500 Free (5:25.01). Kasier followed in second place with a time of 5:26.29. Brown and Duncan then went one-two in the 100 Fly in 58.94 and 1:01.64, respectively. Wisniewski led Hopkins to a sweep of first, second and third in the 100 IM with a time of 58.59. Wujciak placed second in 1:02.06 and Chan followed closely in third (1:02.55).
Hopkins wrapped up the day with first and third-place finishes in the 200 Medley Relay. Wisniewski, Jones, Cheng and Bless combined to win the event in 1:39.89. Taking third place was the team of sophomore Sarah Fauska, DiPrizito, Chan and Kriz in 1:45.50.
Hopkins returns to action on Friday, November 13 as the Blue Jays travel to Lancaster, PA to take on the Franklin & Marshall Diplomats.
