BALTIMORE, MD -- In the third of a seven-part series breaking down the 2015 Johns Hopkins football team, HopkinsSports.com takes a look at the Blue Jay offensive line. While newcomers to the program may make an impact this season, the breakdown includes only returning players.

Who's Back: One year after entering the season with just one returning starter, the line counts seniors Colin Egan, Rowan Cade and Fernando Concepcion as returning starters.

Egan earned D3football.com All-America and a slew of other honors a year ago and is the latest in a long line of Johns Hopkins offensive linemen who has grabbed All-America honors. He will hold down one of the guard spots for the third consecutive year and is the one of the top returning linemen in the nation.

Cade earned First Team All-Centennial Conference honors in his first season as a starter at tackle last season and, at 6-8, 330-pounds, presents challenges to defensive ends in both the passing and running games. His emergence in his first season as a starter last year was pivotal in the growth of the unit.

Egan and Cade form the right side of the line - a side that might be the biggest and most accomplished side in Division III. With no shortage of play-makers, the offense will count on them to pick up where they left off a year ago.

Concepcion mans the guard spot opposite Egan and has quietly developed into one of the most solid guards in the Centennial Conference. He is a strong in both the pass and run games and started nine of the 10 games he played in last season.

Anderson, DeBruyn Grab Openings - Although neither started a game last season, senior Baxter DeBruyn and junior Chantz Anderson might as well be counted as returning starters. DeBruyn played extensively in all 12 games last season and Anderson appeared in 11 games. DeBruyn will take over at the tackle spot opposite Cade, while Anderson steps in at center, where the Blue Jays have been blessed with some of the top performers in program history over the last 15 years. They round out what should be one of the top starting fives in the Centennial.

Depth a Key - An important, but often overlooked, aspect of the Blue Jays' recent success has been the depth the team has enjoyed along the offensive line. Head coach Jim Margraff, who works closely with the unit, and long-time offensive line coach Nick Schloeder have always used a deep rotation to keep players fresh and develop for the future; 2015 should only see more of the same.

Junior Blake LaDouceur, who has played guard and tackle and can fill in at center as well, a strong sophomore class that includes Anthony Campanile, Ben Gaal, Trevor Allen, Dane Sehnert and Zach Jacobson and a three-man freshman class are likely to see playing time as the season progresses.
