Oct. 3, 2016 BALTIMORE, MD -- Johns Hopkins senior quarterback Jonathan Germano and senior wide receiver/return specialist Bradley Munday have been named the Centennial Conference Offensive and Special Teams Players of the Week, respectively, for their efforts in the Blue Jays' 52-17 victory over Juniata on Saturday.
Germano was 15-of-22 for 175 yards with two touchdowns and also rushed eight times for 78 yards and two more scores. He played only the first half as the Blue Jays built a 38-10 halftime lead and he directed the Johns Hopkins offense to five touchdowns and a field goal on six first-half possessions.
Munday, who shared the Special Teams Player of the Week award with Muhlenberg's Nick Lamb, returned three kickoffs for 125 yards, including an 86-yard return for a touchdown. His 86-yard return is the longest of his career, the sixth-longest in school history and the first kickoff return for a touchdown by a Johns Hopkins player since Richard Hill took one back 90 yards for a touchdown at McDaniel in 2007.
Johns Hopkins improved to 5-0 overall and 4-0 in the Centennial Conference with the win against Juniata. The Blue Jays, who extended their regular season winning streak to 36 games and their Centennial Conference streak to 32 games, are off this week and will return to action on Friday, October 14 at Dickinson.
