BALTIMORE, MD – The Johns Hopkins football team will carry a pair of top 10 national rankings into its final regular season game of the 2016 season as the Blue Jays are ranked seventh by the AFCA and ninth by D3football.com. The Blue Jays have been ranked in the top 10 in all eight AFCA Polls this season and in the top 15 in all 11 D3football.com Polls.

The Blue Jays (9-0, 8-0 Centennial Conference) are ranked in the top 25 by the AFCA for the 58th consecutive week and in the top 25 of the D3football.com Poll for the 60th consecutive week. In addition, the top 10 AFCA ranking is the 37th all-time for Johns Hopkins, including the 27th consecutive, while the Blue Jays are in the top 10 of the D3football.com Poll for the 23rd time.

As it has all season, Mount Union (OH) tops both polls again this week. The Purple Raiders are followed by Wisconsin-Whitewater, Mary Hardin-Baylor (TX), St. Thomas (MN) and North Central (IL) in the AFCA Poll; the top four are the same in the D3football.com Poll with Wisconsin-Oshkosh checking in at number five in that poll.

Johns Hopkins will carry a 40-game regular season winning streak and a 36-game Centennial Conference winning streak into this week’s game against long-time rival McDaniel (3-6, 3-5 CC). The Blue Jays have already secured the league’s automatic bid to the upcoming NCAA Playoffs and no worse than a share of the conference title. The trip to the NCAAs will be Johns Hopkins’ sixth straight, while the Centennial Conference title is the eighth straight for the Blue Jays.
