Olivia Kasten earned her 75th career win.
HAVERFORD, PA – The 12th-ranked Johns Hopkins women's tennis team opened Centennial Conference play with a 9-0 win over host Haverford. The Blue Jays improve to 5-2 on the season while the Fords fall to 3-4. Senior Olivia Kasten picked up her 75th career win on the afternoon.
Sophomores Anna Kankanala and Sunaina Vohra opened the match with an 8-2 win at second doubles voer Courtney Ahmed and Caroline Steliotes. Freshmen Mika Inadomi and Chrissy Simon won by the same score at third, beating Stephany Prodromos and Annika Ulrich. Sophomore Megumi Chen and Kasten followed with a 9-7 win over Robyn Himelstein and Abby Payson at first. The win for Kasten was the 75th combined win of her career.
Kankanala grabbed the first singles win of the day as she beat Steliotes 6-0, 6-1 at fourth. Inadomi then clinched the win with a 6-0, 6-2 win at sixth over Ulrich. Kasten followed with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Prodromos at fifth. Sophomore Caroline Greydak then beat Payson 6-0, 6-2 at second and Simon defeated Ahmed 6-2, 6-1 at third. Vohra closed out the match with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Himelstein at first.
Hopkins returns to action on Wednesday, March 30 as Dickinson visits Baltimore. The conference match is slated for a 4:00 pm start.
