Complete 2016 D3football.com Preseason Poll
BALTIMORE, MD - The Johns Hopkins football team has earned its second preseason national ranking for 2016 as the Blue Jays check in at number 15 in the D3football.com Preseason Poll. Johns Hopkins was previously ranked 13th by the Sporting News earlier this summer. This is the fourth consecutive year the Blue Jays have been ranked in the top 20 in the D3football.com Preseason Poll.
Johns Hopkins posted an 11-1 record, won a seventh consecutive Centennial Conference title and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Playoffs for the third time in the last four years in 2015. The 11 wins tied the school single-season record and the Blue Jays ended the 2015 season ranked 10th by the AFCA and 13th by D3football.com.
Johns Hopkins will open the 2016 season on Thursday, September 1 when the Blue Jays welcome Washington & Lee to Homewood Field. The Johns Hopkins-Washington & Lee game is the only one of the more than 1,200 scheduled Division III football games in 2016 that will feature two teams that posted 10-0 records during the regular season in 2015. W&L is ranked 20th in the D3football.com Preseason Poll.
