• The Short Story: The 14th-ranked Johns Hopkins women's tennis team beat visiting Franklin & Marshall, 8-1, on Tuesday afternoon in a battle of two of three undefeated teams remaining in the Centennial Conference.

How it Happened
• Hopkins swept the doubles matches to jump out to a 3-0 lead over Franklin & Marshall.
• Sophomore Katie Gauch and senior Ashnaa Rao beat Allison Wolters and Nicole Russo at first doubles. Freshman Sophia Strickland and sophomore Kimberly Zou won 8-5 at second over Sarah Haas and Caitlin Rummelsburg. Junior Caroline Greydak and senior Jody Law dropped just one game in their win at third over Gavriel Rubenstein and Allysan Breece.
• The Diplomats picked up their only point of the match when Wolters beat Strickland 6-4, 6-2 at first singles. Greydak dropped a combined three games as she beat Russo 6-2, 6-1 at second. Zou turned the same trick at third against Haas.
• Sophomore Chrissy Simon defeated Rummelsburg 6-3, 7-4 at fourth. Senior Amanda Soo Ping Chow lost just two games as she beat Rubenstein 6-1, 6-1 and clinched the win for the Blue Jays. Gauch came from behind to beat Alexandra Collins 2-6, 6-2, 6-2 at sixth.

What it Means
• Hopkins improves to 17-19 all-time against Franklin & Marshall and has now won 13 straight in the series.
• There are just two undefeated teams left in the conference – Johns Hopkins and Swarthmore. The two will meet in the regular season finale on April 29.

For the Record
• Law earns her 36th career doubles win and is now tied for 19th in school history. Rao moves into a tie for 11th as now has 81 total career wins.
