July 10, 2017 Complete 2017 D3football.com Preseason Poll
BALTIMORE, MD -- The 2017 Johns Hopkins football team added a third preseason national ranking as the Blue Jays check in at number 13 in the D3football.com Preseason Poll, which was released today. The Blue Jays earned 261 points in the poll to secure the #13 spot in the top 25.
Earlier this summer the Blue Jays were ranked fifth by Lindy's and 12th by Street & Smith's. The number five preseason ranking from Lindy's is the highest in program history.
Johns Hopkins posted an 11-1 record, won an eighth consecutive Centennial Conference title and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Playoffs for the fourth time in the last five years in 2016. The 11 wins tied the school single-season record and the Blue Jays ended the 2016 season ranked ninth by the AFCA and 11th by D3football.com.
Johns Hopkins will open the 2017 season on Friday, September 1 when the Blue Jays travel to Washington & Lee (7 pm).
