Sept. 3, 2017 LANCASTER, PA -- Johns Hopkins senior place-kicker Jamie Sullivan has been named the Centennial Conference Co-Special Teams Player of the Week for his efforts in the Blue Jays' 32-29 overtime victory at Washington & Lee it was announced today. Sullivan shared the award with Juniata's Joel Reighard.
Sullivan tied a Johns Hopkins single-game record with four field goals in the victory against the Generals. He was good from 21, 44, 21 and 42 yards; his 42-yarder forced overtime with 22 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. Sullivan also hit both of his extra points and recovered an onsides kick in the third quarter that led to 21-yard field goal that gave the Blue Jays their first lead of the game at 16-14.
Sullivan, who is just the third Johns Hopkins kicker to make four field goals in a game and the first since Alex Lachman in 2007, moved into a tie for fourth place in school history in career field goals (22) and career points by a kicker (176) against the Generals; his 176 points also rank 11th on Johns Hopkins' overall scoring list.
Johns Hopkins (1-0) will return to action on Saturday, September 9 when the Blue Jays host Susquehanna in the Centennial Conference opener for both teams.
