• The Short Story: The 18th-ranked Johns Hopkins women's tennis team dropped a total of just nine games en route to a 9-0 win over host Bryn Mawr on Saturday morning in Centennial Conference action.
How it Happened
• Hopkins jumped on top of Bryn Mawr by sweeping the doubles matches with just five lost games. Sophomore Sophia Strickland and freshman Anjie Kashyap grabbed an 8-2 win over Lizzie Siegel and Hannah Sherman at first.
• Freshman Dhanya Asokumar and junior Kimberly Zou won by the same score at second over Caroline Horvatits and Francesca Caramazza. Junior Katie Gauch and freshman Margo Gerke needed just nine games to defeat Mariam Haider and Christina Xue at third.
• Kashyap lost just one game, in the second set, in her win over Siegle at first singles. Strickland did the same as she beat Sherman at second.
• Neither Zou or Asokumar lost a game in wins at third and fourth, respectively. Asokumar's win sealed the victory for the Blue Jays.
• Gauch earned a 6-1, 6-1 win at fifth over Xue and junior Chrissy Simon was the third Blue Jay to not drop a game. She beat Abbygail Brewster at sixth singles.
What it Means
• Hopkins improves to 21-2 all-time against Bryn Mawr and has won 16 straight in the series.
• The Blue Jays run their conference win streak to 112 matches.
