• The Short Story: Sophomore Vik Vasan and freshman Alex Matisse's win at third doubles clinched the Johns Hopkins men's tennis team's 5-4 win over host Haverford Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened
• The teams played singles first and the Blue Jays held a 4-2 lead heading into doubles. Ishann Prinz grabbed the first point of the match and gave the Fords a 1-0 lead with a 7-6 (4), 6-3 win at third singles over junior Scott Thygesen.
• Senior Justin Kang answered with a 6-3, 6-1 win at fifth over Dais Nakayama to tie the match. Freshman Eric Yoo then put Hopkins up 2-1 when his match at second was ended when Kevin Yan was assessed an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.
• Josh Moskovit followed with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 win over freshman Vishnu Joshi at first to tie the match at 2-2. Sophomore Austin Gu gave the Blue Jays back the lead when he defeated David Kong 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 at fourth. Sophomore Aaron Carey pushed the lead to 4-2 with a 6-4, 4-6, 7-5 win at sixth over Pranav Krishnan.
• Kong and Moskovitz pulled the Fords back within one when they beat Carey and sophomore Joe Cartledge 9-8 (6) at first doubles. Vasan and Matisse answered with a 9-7 win at third over Krishnan and Prinz to clinch the win for the Blue Jays. Nakayama and Yan picked up one more point for the Fords with a 9-8 (5) win over Yoo and Joshi at second.

What it Means
• Hopkins improves to 32-31 all-time against Haverford and wins its 19th straight in the series.
• The Blue Jays have won 21 straight and 100 of their last 101 regular season Centennial Conference matches.
• Kang is now tied for 13th in school history with 44 career singles wins.
