• The Short Story: The 18th-ranked Johns Hopkins women's tennis team rolled to a 9-0 win over visiting Gettysburg Friday afternoon in Centennial Conference action.
How it Happened
• The Blue Jays dropped just three games en route to a 3-0 lead and a sweep of the doubles matches. Junior Katie Gauch and freshman Margo Gerke needed just eight games to beat Erica Paul and Erin Sweeney at third doubles.
• Freshman Dhanya Asokumar and junior Kimberly Zou took an 8-1 win over Maddie Class and Maria Martinovic at second. Freshman Anjie Kashyap and sophomore Sophia Strickland then grabbed an 8-3 win at first over Samantha Boardman and Amanda Vinges.
• Kashyap lost just two games as she beat Martinovic 6-1, 6-1 at first singles. Strickland did one better at second, dropping just one game in her win over Boardman at second that clinched Hopkins' win.
• Zou followed with a 6-2, 6-2 defeat of Vinges at third. With the match decided, the final three matches were played in eight-game pro sets. Asokumar needed just nine games to earn a win over Paul at fourth.
• Gauch did the same in her win at fifth over Class. Senior Chrissy Simon grabbed an 8-2 win over Ava Vanhelfteren at sixth.
What it Means
• Hopkins improves to 18-15 all-time against Gettysburg with its 17th straight win in the series.

• Hopkins is back on the court on Saturday as the Blue Jays host the Muhlenberg Mules. The Centennial Conference match is slated for a Noon start.
