• The Short Story: The 18th-ranked Johns Hopkins women's tennis team posted its fifth straight shutout in conference play on Saturday with a win over Muhlenberg.
How it Happened
•The Blue Jays grabbed a quick 3-0 lead in the match by sweeping all three doubles matches. Freshman Anjie Kashyap and sophomore Sophia Strickland beat Hannah Molk and Meghan Olsen, 8-4, at first.
• Freshman Dhanya Asokumar and junior Kimberly Zou lost just one game in their win over Carina Nicolaisen and Shelby Knafo at second. Junior Katie Gauch and freshman Margo Gerke did the same in their win at third over Jourdyn Buckheit and Geetika Bhatia.
• Gauch also lost just one game in singles as she beat Olsen 6-1, 6-0 at second. Junior Chrissy Simon matched the feat as she beat Buckheit at third to clinch the win for Hopkins.
• Asokumar followed with a 6-1, 6-1 win at first over Molk to push the Blue Jays' lead to 6-0. With the match decided the final thre singles matches took to the court and played eight-game pro sets.
• Gerke defeated Bhatia without losing a game, 8-0, at fourth. Freshman Sabrina Abrams turned the same trick in her win over Nicolaisen at fifth. Sophomore Prerna Singh capped the Blue Jays' win with an 8-2 defeat of Jessica Sommer at sixth.
What it Means
• Hopkins is now 18-7 all-time against Muhlenberg and has won 12 straight in the series.
• The Blue Jays run their conference win streak to 115 regular season matches and 137 including conference tournament matches.

• Hopkins returns to the court on Saturday, April 14 as the Blue Jays travel to Haverford, PA to take on the Haverford Fords. The Centennial Conference match is scheduled for an 11 am start.
