Adam Schlenoff Promoted to Full-Time Associate Baseball Coach

Schlenoff Becomes a Full-Time Member of Bob Babb's Staff

BALTIMORE, MD – Johns Hopkins head baseball coach Bob Babb has announced the promotion of Adam Schlenoff to full-time associate head coach, replacing Jonas Fester, who is now the head coach at Lebanon Valley.

"I couldn't be happier to have Adam join the staff full time," said Babb. "It has been a dream of his to become a head coach and this is a great first step for him. The players are really excited for him to be promoted to this position, and we are all happy to keep the continuity with the coaching staff."

Schlenoff began his duties as a full-time assistant on August 1 and has been on the recruiting trail since then. According to Babb along with more recruiting duties Schlenoff will take on a more prominent role in on-field drills and working with the Blue Jay hitters.

"I am honored and excited to be promoted into the associate head coach position. I've learned so much in my seven years with Coach Babb and I am grateful for his confidence in me," Schlenoff noted. "I'd also like to thank our Athletic Director, Alanna Shanahan, for her support of Hopkins baseball and the department of athletics for its help in making this a smooth transition."

Schlenoff is entering his eighth season as a member of the staff and has been key in the Blue Jays' success behind the plate as he works a lot with the Blue Jay catchers. JHU has had a First Team All-Region catcher the past two seasons under Schlenoff's tutelage (Alex Darwiche and Ryan Orgielewicz).

Prior to Hopkins, Schlenoff was the hitting and catching coach at the Community College of Baltimore County Essex. He is a 2005 graduate of Mount St. Mary's, where he was the starting catcher for three seasons and was selected to the All-Northeast Conference team his junior season.
