The Short Story: Johns Hopkins sophomore
Anjie Kashyap advanced to the ITA Southeast Singles Championship match for the second straight year.
Â
How it Happened
• Kashyap upset the top-seed in the draw in Monday morning's semifinal to advance to the finals. She lost a total of just four games in beating Johanna Ranta-Aho (Christopher Newport) 6-1, 6-3. She then faced off against Danna Taylor (Carnegie Mellon). Taylor grabbed the first set 6-2, but Kashyap answered by taking the second set by the same score. Taylor then grabbed the third set, 6-0, and the championship.
Â
What it Means
• Kashyap is just the second player in program history to play in the ITA Southeast Singles Championship at least twice. The Blue Jays have produced an ITA regional singles finalist in each of the last six years.

Up Next
• Hopkins will make the short trip to Loyola for the women's tennis invitational September 28-30.
