Johns Hopkins to Face John Jay in NCAA First Round

BALTIMORE, MD – The third-ranked Johns Hopkins men's soccer team will travel to Catholic for the NCAA First and Second Rounds. Hopkins (16-2-1) will take on John Jay (6-10-2) in the first round on Saturday, November 16 at Carlini Field.
 
Hopkins earned the Centennial Conference's automatic qualifier after beating Franklin & Marshall, 3-2, to earn the program's first conference title since 2009. The Blue Jays are making their third straight NCAA Tournament appearance and 17th all-time. Hopkins advanced to the second round a year ago and has made at least the second round in each of the last eight appearances.
 
Hopkins and John Jay will meet for the first-time ever on Saturday. The Bloodhounds are making their first NCAA Tournament appearance after winning the CUNYAC Tournament as the number five seed. On the other half of the pod, host and 21st-ranked Catholic (18-2-1) will take on Connecticut College (10-3-3). The Cardinals are making their fifth NCAA Tournament appearance after winning the Landmark Conference Championship. The Camels earned an at-large bid out of the NESCAC and will be making their third straight and fourth overall NCAA Tournament appearance.
