Reyes Named Centennial Conference Wrestler of the Week

Junior Posted a 5-0 Record With Three Pins Last Week

LANCASTER, PA – Johns Hopkins junior Dominick Reyes has been named the Centennial Conference Wrestler of the Week after posting a perfect 5-0 record in five dual meets last week.  This is the second time in his career that Reyes has been selected as the Centennial Wrestler of the Week.

Reyes opened his week with a 6-2 win over York's Jesse Rocco on Friday, January 17 and then went 4-0 at the Mid-Winter Duals on Saturday, January 18 to cap his perfect week.
 
Reyes needed less than two minutes total to pick up pins in his first three matches at the Mid-Winter Duals as he scored quick falls against Levi Blain of Thaddeus Stevens (0:48), Kade Steck-Loughney of NYU (0:43) and Michael McCabe of Hunter (0:13).  He closed his effort with a 6-3 win over Penn Tech's Dylan Gettys.
 
 Currently ranked 10th in the nation by the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA), Reyes is 22-2 on the year with eight pins, three technical falls and three major decisions and he's currently won 12 consecutive matches.  For his career, Reyes is 74-24 with 26 pins, 11 technical falls and 12 major decisions to his credit.  He ranks fifth in school history in career pins, second in technical falls and is tied for sixth in wins by major decision.
 
Johns Hopkins is currently 5-5 overall and 1-0 in the Centennial Conference.  The Blue Jays will return to action on Wednesday, January 22 when they host McDaniel.
