LANCASTER, PA – The Centennial Conference announced the all-conference indoor track & field teams on Wednesday morning. A slew of Blue Jays were honored by the conference, led by
Justin Canedy being named Outstanding Field Performer. Canedy is the first athlete in the history of the conference to win four individual events at the Championships. The sophomore is the fourth Blue Jay to win the award, joining Devin Conley, Michael Spadaro, Alex Jebb and Adam Waddell. Canedy won the high jump, long jump, 60-meter dash and 60 hurdles to help the Blue Jays win the title.
Joining Canedy on the first team is
Declan Hines,
Jared Pangallozzi and
Liam Posten. Hines, a junior out of Melville, NY, won the 3,000 for the Jays, clocking a winning time of 8:33.19. Pangallozzi, a junior out of Maplewood, NJ, was the winner in the 5,000, beating Hines by seven seconds with a winning time of 14:50.33. Posten, a freshman, won the heptathlon, scoring 4,352 points to earn his first gold.
Four Blue Jays earned individual silvers, placing on the second team, while the DMR team earned the honor, as well.
Alex Dixon grabbed second-place in the 800, running a 1:56.52.
Matthew Su was named to the second team in the long jump while
Owen Bianchi grabbed second team honors in the triple jump. Bianchi posted a leap of 13.39 meters to grab second while Su had a 6.88 meter leap to place second in the long jump. Hines earned a second team selection in the 5,000.
Finally, three more Jays were Honorable Mention All-Centennial selections, led by two from Su. Su earned honorable mention in the 60-meter and the heptathlon while Pangallozzi (3,000) and
Elias Boussouf (60 Hurdles) were also honorable mention selections.
Jack Armand was named to the All-Centennial Sportsmanship Team.
