BALTIMORE, MD – Senior infielder Mike Eberle and junior pitcher Jonah Offman were named CoSIDA Academic All-District selections, it was announced on Thursday evening. The honorees will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot, which will be announced from June 8-11.

The District II region includes Connecticut, DC, Delaware, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Vermont and West Virginia. To be nominated for the CoSIDA Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.30 or higher cumulative grade point average and be a starter or significant reserve.

The Blue Jays have now produced 60 all-district honorees and have had at least one student-athlete on the team in five straight years.

Eberle was a four-year starter for the Blue Jays, starting 137 games and appearing in 144 during his time at Johns Hopkins. The two-time captain hit .314 in the 12-game 2020 campaign, racking up 16 hits and driving in 10 runs. Eberle totaled 178 hits at Johns Hopkins, hitting .331 for his career. The two-sport athlete had a cumulative GPA of 3.56 and will be starting work at JMI Equity, a growth equity firm, in August.

Offman was a crucial cog to a young pitching staff in the shortened 2020 season. Offman appeared in four contests, making one start, tossing 15.2 innings while striking out 26 batters. The Ontario, Canada product pitched to a 1.72 ERA this season, holding opponents to a batting average of .182. For his career, Offman has struck out 48 batters in 40 innings, registering an ERA of 3.15.

The junior has compiled a 3.82 GPA and has spent time as an intern for both the Hopkins Extreme Materials Institute and Spire Philanthropy. Offman is a Calculus tutor at the JHU Center for Student Success and is an avid member of the Sports Analytics Club and the AstroJays Rocketry Team.
