NEW ORLEANS, LA – The Johns Hopkins women's track & field team had 11 student-athletes earn All-Academic recognition by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) it was recently announced.
The team, as a whole, earned a combined cumulative GPA of 3.55 to earn All-Academic team recognition for the 2019-20 season as well. The Blue Jays were one of 209 teams to earn the distinction, meeting the requirements of a cumulative GPA of at least 3.1.
Individually, the Blue Jays placed 11 athletes on the USTFCCCA's All-Academic list of 477 women from 123 institutions. Johns Hopkins was one of just 11 programs to have at least 10 honorees.
To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.30 and must have met at least one of the following athletic standards:
- Finished the indoor season among the top 50 individuals as listed on the descending order lists on TFRRS. In addition, any athletes not among the top 50, but who were accepted into the Indoor National Championship, are eligible
- Competed as a member of one of the top 35 relay teams as listed on the indoor descending order list on TFRRS. In addition, any athletes not among the top 35 relay teams, but who were accepted in the relay at the Indoor National Championship (alternates are excluded), are eligible. Finally, any competing relay team member on an expanded descending order list to include 35 institutions (1 relay team per institution) is eligible.
