The Short Story: The Johns Hopkins men's fencing team won all three of its duals and won eight of nine weapons on Saturday at the 2021 D'Arnstein '09 Invitational.

How it Happened
• Hopkins opened the day with a 18-9 win over host Haverford. Seniors
Noah Park and
Matthew Jacobs led the Foil squad (5-4) with two wins each, with Jacobs getting the clinching win. Sophomore
Gabe Insler won all three of his bouts to lead the Epee squad to a 6-3 win. And in the Sabre, sophomore
Qilin Tong went 3-0 to lead the squad to a 7-2 win.
• The Blue Jays followed that with a 17-10 win over the Mids. Park and Jacobs again led the Foil squad (8-1) with three wins each. Insler again went 3-0 as he led the Epee squad to a 7-2 victory. Tong and senior
Paul Lam each picked up a win in a 7-2 loss for the Sabre squad.
• Hopkins wrapped up the day with a 23-4 win over William & Mary. Park again led the Foil squad (8-1) to victory as he won all three of his bouts. Junior

Ethan Kim each won two bouts as the Epee squad earned a 7-2 win. And in the Sabre (8-1), Lam led the way with three wins, including the 100
th of his career.

What it Means
• Hopkins improves to 69-16 all-time against Haverford and has won the last two meetings. JHU is now 8-9 against Navy, having won eight straight over the Mids. And against William & Mary, Hopkins owns a 42-8 lead in the series.
