BALTIMORE, MD – Johns Hopkins senior Tim Treinen has been named a Third Team United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-America. He is the lone selection from the Centennial Conference.
 
Treinen is the 10^th Blue Jay to earn Scholar All-America honors from the United Soccer Coaches. He also earned Scholar All-South honors and last month was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team.
 
Treinen anchored the Blue Jay defense for three years and was a two-time All-Centennial Conference selection. Hopkins ranked second in the conference in shutouts (8) and goals allowed (19) and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2021. Treinen started 53 games and led a defense that posted a 0.77 goals against average and 25 shutouts in his career.
 
Treinen has interned at Centro de los Derechos del Migrante and is an undergraduate research assistant in JHU's Neonatology Lab. In addition, he is the President of SAAC, is a peer mentor at CASA de Maryland and a Spanish translator at Healing Hearts Across Borders. He is also the founder of Hopkins' Athlete Book Club
