Johns Hopkins graduate athlete
Annie Gutierrez was named Centennial Conference Field Athlete of the Week for her efforts at the Bison Opener this past weekend. The Blue Jays swept three of the four Track & Field awards this week.
No stranger to Centennial Athlete honors, Gutierrez added another to her career tally after breaking program and conference records in the pentathlon. Gutierrez totaled 3,499 points, breaking Maya Hammonds' program record of 3,403 and Haverford's Jessie Belden's conference record of 3,497. Gutierrez added a 3.65m pole vault on day two of the event to put her second nationally at the DIII level after the first week of the Indoor season. The 3.65m mark is her third-best indoor mark throughout her impressive career.
