TOWSON, MD - The Blue Jays stole the show in the women's 1,500 this afternoon at the Towson Invitational, placing three runners in the top-six, including the top-two.
Ella Baran ran a PR time of 4:33.58 to win the event, placing her tops in the nation in Division III.
Ariel Keklak came in right behind Baran with a time of 4:37.67, placing her second nationally as of Friday night.
Therese Olshanski also posted a top-10 time nationally, crossing the finish line in 4:43.08, good for sixth in the event and seventh in Division III so far this season.

Bobby Van Allen was very pleased with his team's performance in their first competitive action since March 7
th, 2020.
"It was exciting to finally get to see our teams competing again and see all the hard work they've put in over the last year pay off. Even with no events, our athletes kept working and pushing to get better and it was incredible to see it play out. I think it really sets us up for a successful season," Van Allen said.
Other Notable Performances
- The Blue Jays got a good showing from Elias Boussouf & Kevin Sommer, placing third and fourth in the 400m hurdles. Boussouf crossed the finish line in 57.77 seconds with Sommer right behind him at 57.87. Both times rank top-50 nationally with Boussouf sitting 42nd and Sommer 47th.
- Victoria Kadiri had a strong debut in the 100m. The freshman crossed the finish line in 12.71 in her first race as a Blue Jay. Kadiri's time puts her in the top-45 nationally amongst DIII runners. Marissa Hsu finished in 12.99 in her first outdoor event as a Blue Jay.
- Gavin McElhennon placed second in the 1,500 on the men's side with a JHU debut time of 4:03.04. Joshua Derrick joined McElhennon in the top-five in his first event as a Blue Jay. Derrick crossed the finish line in 4:07.41.
