BALTIMORE, MD – The Johns Hopkins men's soccer team placed six players on the 2020-21 CoSIDA Academic All-District Team it was announced. The Blue Jays' six selections are a school record and are the most of any school in the nation at any level.

Pablo Martinez and sophomore
Alex Whamond were all named to District 2 team. Hopkins has now produced 47 CoSIDA Academic All-District selections, including 29 under head coach
Craig Appleby. At least one Blue Jays has been named to the team in each of the last seven years and 17 of the last 18.
Hopkins has produced 41 CoSIDA Academic All-District men's soccer selections, with 40 of those coming since 2002. JHU has had at least one men's soccer player earn the honor in every year since 2014.
The 2020-21 Academic All-District® Men's Soccer Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions – NCAA Division I, Division II Division III and NAIA. Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early July.
LeFevre is the first Blue Jay goalie to earn Academic All-District honors since 2012 and is just the fifth all-time. He graduated last month with a 3.46 cumulative GPA in mechanical engineering and he is pursuing a master's degree in the same field. He is a two-time United Soccer Coaches Second Team All-Region and two-time All-Centennial Conference (CC) selection. In 2019, LeFevre led the league in shutouts (7) and save percentage (.816) and ranked second in goals against average (0.75). For his career, he boasts a 0.83 goals against average, .799 save percentage and 14 shutouts.
LeFevre has served as a technical designer at Naval Air Systems Command since August 2020. Last summer, he was a geotechnical engineering intern at D.W. Kozera, Inc. He was also a research assistant for JHU's Hemker Research Group from June 2018 to August 2020. In addition, LeFevre is a technical designer for Engineers without Borders.
Quintana earns his second straight Academic All-District honor, becoming the ninth player in program history to do so. He graduated in May with a degree in natural sciences and a 3.69 cumulative GPA. He was a Second Team All-CC and Second Team Scholar All-Region selection when he was tied for the team lead in assists (5) in 2019. Quintana anchors a Blue Jay defense that has posted a 0.809 goals against average with 17 shutouts in the last two seasons.
Quintana has worked with the Esperanza Health Center's COVID-19 Health Hotline as well as assisting with the primary care of LatinX immigrants. In the summer of 2019, he took a medical mission trip to Guatemala and did an observership at Montefiore Medical Center. Quintana has worked as a translational research assistant as well as a clinical research assistant at JHU's Kennedy Krieger Institute since March 2018. In addition, he is a tutor with Hopkins And1 and was the outreach liaison with the Shaking Hands Club.
Moore graduated in May with degrees in economics and applied mathematics and statistics while posting a 3.93 cumulative GPA. The 2017 CC Rookie of the Year, he is a three-time All-CC and two-time United Soccer Coaches All-Region selection. He earned First Team United Soccer Coaches and Second Team D3soccer.com All-America honors as well as First Team Scholar All-America and CC Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors in 2019. For his career, he has totaled six goals and 15 assists for 27 points in 60 games.
Moore interned with the Susquehanna International Group last summer and was a summer actuarial analyst for Willis Towers Watson in 2019. He is a member of Blue Jays LEAD as well as the Quantitative Finance Club. Moore also volunteers as a tutor with Hopkins And1 and is a mentor in JHU's Student-Athlete Mentorship Program.
Maclean graduated last month with a 3.57 cumulative GPA and a degree in economics. He earned Third Team United Soccer Coaches All-America and First Team All-Region honors in 2019, when he was also selected the CC Tournament MVP. He is also a two-time All-CC selection and was named a First Team Scholar All-America by the United Soccer Coaches in 2019. In 58 career games, Maclean has tallied 14 goals and eight assists for 36 points. Eight of his 14 goals were game-winners.
Later this month, Maclean will begin work as a rotational analyst at JP Morgan, where he was previously a summer analyst. He also interned at Deer Pond Capital and Godot Investments LLC while in school. In addition, he worked in the athletic department equipment room since August 2018. Maclean was a research assistant in Hopkins' Institute for Applied Economics, Global Health and the Study of Business Enterprise this past fall.
Martinez graduated last month with a degree in economics and a 3.37 GPA. He is a two-time All-CC selection and tallied nine goals and seven assists (25 points) in 47 career games. In 2018, Martinez led the Blue Jays in goals (6), assists (5) and points (17). He interned at Clean Focus Renewables and was also a youth coach for Shoreline FC. He volunteers with Hopkins And1 as well as Person2Person.
Whamond boasts a 3.68 cumulative GPA and is majoring in applied mathematics and statistics. He is one of just two sophomores in District 2 to earn Academic All-District honors and is one of just eight in all of Division III. Whamond ranked second on the team in goals (5) and points (13) as a freshman in 2019. In addition, he ranked fourth in assists (3). He is a volunteer with the Boys & Girls Club, and Zaniac Tutoring while also working in the athletic department equipment room. Whamond is a member of the Johns Hopkins Finance Mentor Network and participated in the JP Morgan Corporate & Investment Bank LatinX Undergraduate Experience.
