The Short Story: The Johns Hopkins men's fencing team opened the 2022 portion of it schedule with a pair of wins at the Philadelphia Invitational. Hopkins earned wins over Lafayette and Sacred Heart to go 2-3 on the day.

How it Happened
Hopkins opened the day with an 18-9 win over Lafayette. The Sabre squad won easily, 8-1, while both the Foil and Epee squads earned hard-fought 5-4 wins. The Blue Jays then faced off against host and seventh-ranked Penn Quakers and fell, 17-10. The Foil squad picked up a tight 5-4 win for the Blue Jays. The next match wasn't any easier as Hopkins took on 10
th-ranked Duke, The Blue Devils won 17-10, while the Blue Jays Sabre squad earned a 7-2 win.
JHU got back in the win column with an 18-9 win over Sacred Heart, getting wins from the Sabre (8-1) and Epee (7-2) squads. Hopkins ended the day with a 19-8 loss to NYU, which is ranked first in the Division III Coaches Poll. The Blue Jay Foil squad beat the Violets, 5-4.
