BALTIMORE, MD - For the second consecutive week, a Johns Hopkins Blue Jay was named Centennial Conference Track Athlete of the Week.
Matthew Kleiman earned the honor for his efforts at the NYC Gotham Cup this past weekend.
Kleiman, a junior from Concord, MA, broke the Blue Jay program record in the mile, a time held for eight years by Andrew Carey. Kleiman ran the mile in 4:09.45, currently sitting in third nationally among Division III runners. Kleiman ran the final 400 in 59.26 to crack the 4:10 mark.
The Blue Jays are set to compete in Fairfax, VA at the Patriot Games this weekend on the campus of George Mason University.
