LANCASTER, PA – Johns Hopkins quarterback Ryan Stevens has been named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player-of-the-Week after guiding the Blue Jays to a 34-27 win over Muhlenberg last Friday night at Homewood Field. This is the third time in his career that Stevens has been named the CC's Offensive Player-of-the-Week.
Stevens was 25-of-36 for 139 yards and two touchdowns and also rushed 12 times for a career-high 80 yards and another score in the victory against the Mules. It was the third straight game that Stevens has completed at least 25 passes and his 80 rushing yards, which were part of a 309-yard rushing night for the Blue Jays, were more than twice his previous career high.
Through six games, Stevens is 133-of-187 (.711) for 1,391 yards and 18 touchdowns against just three interceptions. He has also rushed 33 times for 196 yards and three touchdowns and is directing an offense that is averaging 48.5 points and 518.2 yards per game. Nationally, the Blue Jays rank seventh in both scoring and total offense.
Johns Hopkins (6-0, 5-0 Centennial) will played its second consecutive home game this Saturday (October 22) when the Blue Jays welcome Gettysburg (1-5, 1-4 CC) to Homewood Field.
