BALTIMORE, MD - The Johns Hopkins men's lacrosse team will donate a portion of the proceeds from its game on Friday, March 18 against Navy to a charitable foundation that supports Baltimore City Firefighters.  A recent tragedy in Baltimore initiated the team's outreach.

On January 24^th, 2022, three Baltimore City firefighters were killed, and a fourth injured, fighting a fire at a vacant Baltimore row house. The Blue Jay lacrosse team will honor the three fallen firefighters, Lt. Paul Butrim, Kelsey Sadler, and Kenny Lacayo, as well as John McMaster and the entire Baltimore City Fire Department with a First Responders & Military Appreciation Game.  One dollar from all tickets sold will be donated to the Baltimore Fire Officers Charitable Fund with all donated proceeds going directly to the families impacted by this tragedy.  In addition, the Johns Hopkins Federal Credit Union will be matching the program's donation.

All first responders and members of the military who attend the game will be admitted to Homewood Field for $1 with that dollar serving as the donation to the charitable fund as well.

Members of the Johns Hopkins men's lacrosse team wll be wearing special shooting shirts before and during Friday's game.  The shirts include the names of the three fallen firefighters along with the date of January 24, 2022.  Faceoff at Homewood Field is set for 7 pm.
