Sachin Mehta earned first team honors, sophomore
Qilin Tong and freshman
Alan Zheng earned second team honors and senior
Evan Lau was named honorable mention.
The USFCA recognizes the top Division III fencers in the country, determined by an evaluation of their regular season performance and postseason performance, including both NCAA Regionals and NCAA Championships. The USFCA began recognizing a Division III All-America team last season.
Mehta, who took 21
st place at the NCAA Championships, led the Sabre squad with 96 wins (96-57). He placed fifth at the regional and was the runner-up at the MACFA Championships last month. His 96 wins are the most by a Blue Jay in the Sabre since 2009. Tong took 11
th at the NCAA Regional and went 43-45 this season.
Zheng led the Blue Jay Foil squad with 68 wins (68-52). He placed 17
th at the NCAA Regional and tied for third at the MACFA Championship. Lau won 29 bouts this season, including the 100
th of his career. He finished in a tie for 26
th at the NCAA Regional.
