Meet Highlights
- Victoria Kadiri jumped into the top spot at the DIII level so far this season in the long jump with a 5.94m jump at the Mondschein Multis on Thursday afternoon. Competing in the Maroon Heptathlon field, Kadiri had an outstanding couple of days, winning her flight with 4,250 points, a top-five mark thus far. Kadiri's long jump juuuust sneaks past Maya Hammonds' program record mark of 5.93m to take over the top spot. Kadiri earned 623 points in the 100-meter hurdles, winning the event with a time of 16.77. A 1.57m high jump earned Kadiri 701 points, giving her the top spot in that event as well. Kadiri totaled 553 points with a 10.36m shot put to win that event as well. Kadiri won the 200-meter run with a time of 27.00 seconds to earn another 712 points. Kadiri placed 11th in the javelin and fifth in the 800 to round out the event.
- In the Gold division of the heptathlon, Annie Gutierrez took second place, finishing just a few points shy of a new program record. Gutierrez finished second with 4,628 points, beating her own personal best by 15 points and finishing just seven shy of the school record. Gutierrez won the 100-meter hurdles (14.81) and the 200-meter dash (26.16) while placing second in the long jump (5.46m) and 800-meter (2:25.97). The mark puts Gutierrez in third nationally, putting her in the top-15 in two events thus far in 2022.
- Competing in the Maroon flight, Emma Somers placed ninth, totaling 3,085 points. The junior placed second in the 800 with a time of 2:37.61 to grab 601 points. Somers finished fourth in the high jump with a 1.45m jump and fourth in the long jump with a 4.90m leap.
