Meet Highlights
- Blue Jay senior Justin Canedy had a strong showing on his home track, breaking the men's outdoor triple jump record with a mark of 14.48m. Canedy breaks Ethan Bartlett's outdoor record of 14.31. The senior's mark is ninth among DIII men thus far in 2022. Canedy also competed in the high jump, tying for third with a 1.85m mark.
- Hopkins graduate Matthew Su blasted past his previous school-record long jump mark of 7.27m with a 7.40m leap on Saturday afternoon. Su's new career-best mark places him sixth in the Division III ranks in the 2022 campaign. Su also competed as part of the Hopkins 4x100 relay team that timed at 42.96.
- Joining Su and Canedy with a strong day in the jump pit was Owen Bianchi who posted a top-10 mark in program history in the long jump at 7.03m. It is a top-35 mark nationally and is Bianchi's second-best career outdoor mark (7.08).
- After a fantastic showing last weekend at Bucknell, Arthur Beyer bested himself at home this weekend in the 800. The graduate improved on his previous PR of 1:52.22 which was good for 12th nationally. Today, Beyer finished in 1:51.27, moving him up to sixth nationally and up to fifth in JHU history.
- Elias Boussouf put himself in contention for an NCAA spot in the 400-meter hurdles with his showing on Saturday. Boussouf outlasted teammate Kevin Sommer to lead the Hopkins grouping in the event with a time of 54.66. That is Boussouf's fastest time this season and his third-fastest in his career. Boussouf's time is good for eighth in JHU history and would currently place him 18th at the DIII level, just behind Sommer's mark of 54.41.
- There were plenty of other strong performances from the Blue Jay men on Saturday including, but not limited to:
- Ahmed Elmogi's 200-meter time of 22.62, his best thus far in 2022.
- Charlie Teeter's steeplechase run of 9:37.38, just missing out on a top-10 mark in JHU history.
