The JHU men sit in fourth-place after day one of the Centennial Outdoor Championships with 16 points.
Gavin McElhennon led the way for Jays, taking home gold in the men's 10,000.
Meet Highlights
- McElhennon ran the seventh-fastest 10,000 in JHU program history to earn gold for Johns Hopkins on day one in Collegeville. McElhennon outlasted a tough field and tough conditions to hold off Haverford's Ryan Kredell by three seconds.
- After five decathlon events, James Reilly sits in second with 2,880 points. Reilly grabbed 693 points in the first event, running the 100 in 11.79 seconds. The sophomore won the long jump, taking 648 points with a 6.28m leap. Reilly followed it up with 495 points in the shot put, tossing a 10.15m shot put. In event four, he took home 520 points in the high jump with a 1.67m jump. He rounded out the day with 524 points in the 400.
