BALTIMORE, MD – Johns Hopkins is ranked second in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Coaches Preseason Poll it was announced this afternoon. This is the Blue Jays' highest-ever preseason ranking and marks the third straight season they are ranked in the top-five in the preseason poll.
Hopkins had the best season in program history in 2021. JHU finished the season with a 22-1 record, including a school-record 22-game win streak. The Blue Jays won their third straight Centennial Conference title and made the program's first-ever appearance in the national title game. Hopkins returns six starters from last year's squad, including All-Americans
Abby Birk and
Anna Scott.
Hopkins received 1071 points in the poll and sits 108 points behind top-ranked and defending national champion Middlebury. Rowan (933), Tufts (903) and Trinity (CT) (848) round out the top-five.
JHU opens the season on September 1 at home versus Washington & Lee, which is ranked 10
th in the preseason poll.
