Zoe Hsieh won the Blue A Doubles Championship.
Xiao, seeded sixth in the draw, opened with a 6-3 (wr) over Ana Patino (SBC). In the round of 32, she came from behind to beat Rachael Fitzgerald (HC) 3-6, 6-1, 1-0 (6). Xiao followed that with a 6-3, 7-5 win over Bin Zheng (CMU) and a 6-2, 6-2 defeat of Manuela Van Cotthem (CMU) in the quarterfinals. Her run ended with a 6-0, 6-0 loss to top-seeded Sarah Yang (CMU) in the semifinals.
Wong opened with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Mary Lavin (HC) and then beat Kathleen Shiffer (SC) 6-1, 7-5 in the round of 32. Wong followed with a 6-3, 6-2 defeat of Becket Water (W&L). She lost in the quarterfinals to Marta Mikos (W&L) 2-6, 6-4, 6-2.
Freshman
Essence Wang opened with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Brooke Simonson (CUA) and then rallied to defeat Daniela Padron Castillo (SC) 2-6, 6-4, 1-0 (4). She lost in the round of 16 to Cotthem (CMU) 2-6, 6-4, 6-3. Junior
Ali Bader won her first match 6-1, 6-0 over Soleil Namunyola. She then fell to the numbe two seed, Abigail Moghtader (UMW), 6-4, 6-2 in the round of 32.
Senior
Christina Huynh opened the tournament with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Alexa Brewster (VWU). She then lost to Nathalie Williams (SC) 6-1, 6-0 in the round of 32. Graduate student
Mary Beth Hurley won her first-round match 6-2, 6-4 over Lola Diaz (SC) but then lost to Divya Venkatarama (CMU) 6-4, 7-5 in the round of 32.
Ghosh lost her first-round match to Malikaa Marathe (CMU) 6-3, 6-1. Freshman
Niamh Harding dropped her opening match to Riho Iijima (W&L) 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (12).
In the Blue A singles draw, senior
Emily Javedan won her first match 8-1 over Elizabeth Teefey (LU). She lost in the semifinals to Lisa Messier (SC) 8-6.
In the Championship Doubles draw, Wong and Xiao were seeded eighth and had a first-round bye. They won their first match 8-4 over Samantha Perry and Cassidy Landau (F&M). The duo then beat 10
th-ranked seeded Grace Lorenz and Gabi Moss (W&L) 8-3. Their run ended in the quarterfinals in a tough 8-7 (0) to third-seeded Danna Taylor and Crystal Zhou (SBC).
Hurley and Javedan, seeded ninth, had a first-round bye and then beat Jenna Harrison and Mackenzie Sherman (F&M) 8-0. They lost in the round of 16 to Amanda Hagino and Hana Kimmey (UMW) 8-5.
Sophomore
Catharina Ausfahl and senior
Celina Liu won their first match 8-3 over Alexandra Jaksec and Riley Smith (UMW). They then lost to Sofia Andrade and Ana Patino (SBC) 8-5 in the round of 32. Wang and Huynh dropped their round of 64 match to Venkatarama and Anna Chow 8-4. Bader and Harding had a first-round bye and then lost to Izzy Kosiol and Marta Mikos (W&L) 8-3.
In the Blue A doubles draw, Ghosh and Hsieh opened with an 8-2 win over Piper Sartison and Isabella Sorhegui (WC). They then beat Olivia Hall and Katherine Tamesis (SU) 8-2 to advance to the finals. They completed their run with another 8-2 win, beating Logan Glen and Eva Taylor (CNU) in the finals.
