Â
Maurath, Hoffmann Score Big Wins
Johns Hopkins jumped back in the match with back-to-back bonus point wins at 157 and 165 to trim the deficit to 21-10. After giving up an early takedown, junior

Â
Blue Jay freshman
Jake Hoffmann then scored a stunning 13-2 major decision of
Shawn Marchesano at 165 to make it 21-10. Hoffmann, who had lost by fall to Marchesano early in the year, gave up an early takedown, but took a 3-2 lead after the first period, pushed the margin to 6-2 at the end of the second and added another takedown and four back points in the third with a point of riding time tacked on to account for the 13-2 final score. Machesano entered the match ranked second in the Mideast Region.
