Ava Balacek has been named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the first time in her career. She is the fifth Blue Jay to earn conference player of the week honors this season.
Balacek totaled two goals and two assists to lead Johns Hopkins to wins over Washington College and Bryn Mawr last week. She assisted on the game-winner and then added an insurance goal in the win over the Shorewomen Wednesday night. Balacek scored the game-tying goal and then assisted on the game-winner with 1:55 to play in the come-from-behind win over Bryn Mawr on Saturday.
Balacek is tied for the team lead with four assists and is tied for third in points (12). She is also fifth on the team with four goals.
Hopkins returns to action on Wednesday, October 18 at McDaniel. The Centennial Conference contest is slated for a 6:00 pm start.
