COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – The Johns Hopkins field hockey team has been picked second in the Penn Monto/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Preseason Poll. The Blue Jays are ranked in the top five to start the season for the seventh consecutive year and this is the third time in the last four years that JHU is ranked second.
Hopkins is coming off its seventh consecutive Centennial Conference Championship and finished with a 22-2 record. JHU advanced to the NCAA Championship game for the fourth time in the last five seasons. Ten of the Blue Jays' 2026 opponents are ranked in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Preseason Poll, including the first six.
Hopkins is set to open the season on Tuesday, September 1 versus 18
th-ranked Lynchburg in Winchester, VA. The game is scheduled for a 4:00 pm start at Shenandoah's Aikens Stadium.
