BALTIMORE, MD – The Johns Hopkins field hockey team placed a school-record four student-athletes on the NFHCA Region V First Team it was announced today. Seniors
Alexis Loder,
Mikayla Schoff and
Siena Urbanski and junior
Liz Falterer earned the honor.
Hopkins' four first-team selections are the most in the region and are a school-record. JHU has now produced 75 NFHCA All-Region selections, including 22 under head coach
Jane Wells. Fourteen of the 22 all-region picks under Wells have been first team selections.
The quartet led Johns Hopkins to a 21-2 record, the program's fifth consecutive Centennial Conference Championship and third straight appearance in the national championship game.
Loder earns all-region honors for the first time in her career. A 2023 Second Team All-CC selection, she ranked fourth in the nation in goals against average and ninth in save percentage. She played all 23 games, with 17 starts in the cage, and posted a 0.50 goals against average and a .833 save percentage. Loder also posted a 16-1 record and nine shutouts.
Schoff is named all-region for the second straight year after earning second team honors a year ago. A two-time All-CC selection, she was named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team. Schoff totaled six goals and seven assists as a defensive midfielder. She ranked second on the team in assists and fourth in points. She scored the game-winning goal in both the NCAA quarterfinal and semifinal wins.
Urbanski, the 2023 Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Year, earns all-region honors for the second time. She led the Blue Jays in goals (11) and points (28) this season and was third in assists. Five of her 11 goals were game-winners, including in the Centennial Conference Championship and the NCAA Second Round.
Falterer picks up her first career all-region honor after being named the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Year. She led a defense that ranked sixth in the nation in goals against average (0.60) and shutouts (12). Falterer had a team-best three defensive saves but also made an impact on the offensive end. She finished second on the team in goals (9) and points (22) and was tied for fourth in assists (4). She was also named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team for the second straight year.
