LANCASTER, PA- The Johns Hopkins baseball team was picked to finish second in the Centennial Conference preseason poll, it was announced earlier today. The Blue Jays received three of the 10 first place votes and came in just two points behind Franklin & Marshall who were picked to finish on top of the conference.

The Blue Jays are coming off a 20-18 season a year ago where they finished fourth in the Centennial with a 10-8 record. JHU returns several starters from a year ago and have added great depth to their pitching staff over the offseason.

F&M received six of the possible first place votes and earned 77 points in the poll. Right behind Johns Hopkins with 66 points and one first place vote is Swarthmore. Haverford and Dickinson were voted into the next two spots to round out the top five of this year's preseason poll.

Johns Hopkins kicks off the 2023 season on February 24
th as they play host to Cortland who enter the season ranked 14
th in the nation.
