COLLEGEVILLE, PA- The Johns Hopkins men's track and field team finished the first day at the Centennial Championships with a slight edge on the rest of the field heading into the weekend. The Blue Jays finished the day with 25.5 points to sit on top of the rest of their conference opponents.
Lim Takes Gold in Pole Vault
- Peter Lim got the Blue Jays off on the right foot by topping the field in the pole vault with a mark of 4.10m. It is the sophomore's first ever medal earned during the outdoor season, after taking the gold in the pole vault during the indoor season. He becomes the 10th ever conference champion in the pole vault in school history and the first since 2019.
McElhennon Earns Silver in 10K
- Junior Gavin McElhennon ran a season's best time of 30:53.85 in the 10K to earn himself a silver medal. This is the second time in his outdoor career McElhennon has medaled in the 10K and he now has three outdoor medals.
