RALEIGH, NC – The Johns Hopkins men's track and field team opened the 2025-26 outdoor season Thursday evening at the Raleigh Relays, highlighted by impressive performances from
Caleb Tenney and
Emmanuel Leblond, who each etched their names into the program record book.
Making his collegiate outdoor debut, Tenney delivered on the promise he showed during the indoor season with a record-setting run in the 1,500 meters. The freshman crossed the line in 3:47.42, finishing 67
th in a highly competitive field of 240 athletes, the majority of whom represented Division I programs. He was the 15
th freshman overall and the third Division III finisher in the race. Tenney's time broke the previous school record of 3:48.30, set by Arthur Beyer in 2022, and currently ranks as the third-fastest time in Division III this season.
Leblond capped the evening with an impressive showing in the 10,000 meters, placing 42
nd with a personal-best time of 29:45.03. Competing in a field of 130 runners dominated by Division I talent, Leblond was the top Division III finisher. His performance ranks second all-time in program history and stands as the fastest 10,000-meter time in Division III this season, making him the only runner so far this year to break the 30-minute barrier.
Hopkins returns to action on Saturday, March 28 at the Navy Outdoor Invitational. Events at the Naval Academy are scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m.
