Baseball Picked Atop Centennial Preseason Poll

Blue Jays Receive All Nine Possible First-Place Votes

LANCASTER, PA – The Johns Hopkins baseball team is the preseason favorite to repeat as the Centennial Conference Champions, as released by the conference this afternoon. The Blue Jays finished first with 81 points, taking all nine possible first-place votes to earn the top spot.

Returning nearly all of its offensive pieces from a team that went 17-1 in Centennial Conference play a season ago en route to finishing as the National Runner-Up, the top-ranked team in the country will look to win the program's 18th Centennial Conference title.

Dickinson, which Hopkins beat in the 2023 Centennial Conference Championship, received the lone other first-place vote to finish second with 67 points, followed by Franklin & Marshall (64), Swarthmore (56) and Haverford (55).

The Blue Jays kick off their 2024 season Friday, Feb. 23 with a matchup against Rutgers-Newark, after which the program will be tested early and often with games against Baldwin Wallace, Salisbury, Endicott, UW-La Crosse and UW-Stevens Point in the opening month of the season, all of which are ranked in the preseason top-15.
